As Club Penguin shifted from a 2D flash game to a 3D mobile game, we wanted to update the look and feel of our animated marketing content as well. The goal was to maintain the quirky, sometimes random humour and character of the original Club Penguin, but at the same time feel fresh, feel new, and more current.
I was responsible for all animated video content for the announcement and launch phases. This included helping design the marketing penguins, managing and directing outsource partner Goldtooth Creative, storyboarding, animating, compositing and directing the trailers and supporting videos.
Also, I'm proud to have developed the animation style guidelines and penguin acting guidelines for Club Penguin Island marketing, and I have been a part of developing the product guidelines as well.
